Annual Summer BBQ For more photos of this event please click HERE. Great location, great company, great weather and, most importantly, great food all came together for our reinstated annual BBQ in Pikni Forest following a three year absence due to Covid restrictions. 48 people from all three churches and some very welcome visitors gathered for a wonderful and successful evening. As usual at a BBQ the male 'chefs' were slaving over the hot coals fulfilling our needs. As a 'bonus' the event raised nearly 300 euros for church funds. We look forward to seeing you at our next social event which is an afternoon boat trip and BBQ on Thursday 8 September from Latchi harbour.

Essentially a fundraising event, it was the camaraderie amongst the 100 guests which made this occasion so special. The support given from the volunteers was immeasurable, we knew it was going to be a huge task and every one of them stepped up and gave more than was expected. From the logistics prior to the event, including all the wonderful donations we received, setting up on the day, preparing and serving the three-course lunch, clearing up post event and contributing to making new memories. There were sideshows such as Play your Cards Right, Get the Ball in the Box, and Where did the Corgi bury its bone? Reverend Ken was spied selling raffle tickets and directing people to the Tombola. DJ Graham provided the music and even karaoke for the brave. He judged the ‘Best Crown’ competition which had two categories – under 21 and over 21. Surprise, surprise we had two little girls who won the under 21’s and Angela Hamilton won the over 21’s – this was a difficult decision as people had been very creative. The 50’s Quiz was won by members of St Luke’s, who each received a prize for their efforts. The afternoon finished with the reading of a message from her Majesty and of course the toast to her continued good health and long life. It was a truly unforgettable occasion and will be cherished by all who attended. Ascension Day Holy Communion and Picnic Lunch in Pikni Forest, Peyia On a lovely sunny day, 25 people attended the gathering in the Peyia forest for the annual Ascension Day service, organised by St Luke's. Reverend Andrew was the celebrant, owing to Reverend Ken being taken ill with Covid. Members from all three churches were involved in the readings and intercessions, and Holy Communion was administered during the service. The congregation was in fine singing voice, when we sang hymns to celebrate the ascension of Christ. The service was followed by a bring your own picnic, which most of the congregation stayed for.
