Collections, Gifts and Pledges.
Many things can be said about giving – to God, church and community. Perhaps the strongest motivation behind all concepts of giving is that of the Generosity of God.
Scripture teaches and reminds us of God’s overwhelming generosity to his creation. As Christians, we stand in awe of all that God both gives and promises to us. As part of our response to this expression of God’s love we encourage all who worship in the Anglican Parish of Paphos to give as generously as their means allow to support the work of the church, and our charitable giving. We appreciate that this response can be either in a measure of money freely given, the offering of time or the sharing of talents for the benefit of all. As a parish, we are constantly aware that we have no outside funding. We are funded entirely by the generous giving of our parishioners, and the financial contribution that our wedding ministry makes to the parish. In uncertain times, our ability to offer places of worship, to provide pastoral support and to conduct baptisms and funerals for the many English-speaking expatriates who live here, and wish to have such services, is only made possible by regular sustained giving through collections at services, donations and our Pledged Giving scheme. |
In short, our ability to offer ministry to church members and visitors alike, and to spread the Good News of God in Jesus Christ, is enabled solely by the generosity of our visitors, our parishioners and the work of our wedding ministry.
