For more images and memories click HERE After many months of planning and preparation this year’s Charity Christmas Fayre was an undoubted success. Final monies and expenses are still being settled, but it would appear that €10,000 will be donated to the nominated Cyprus charities. Held at the huge ‘Monte Liza’ wedding venue in Paphos, it is often difficult to realise that EVERY stall, attraction and all the catering is provided and staffed by members of the Anglican Church and their friends. Nobody works for personal profit. A new attraction was the ‘Articrafts’ display of artworks donated by church members for sale at the Fayre. Not only did this raise welcome money for the charities, but it also illustrated the diverse talents of congregation members. Entertainment was, as usual, provided by the talented Cyprus Police Band, but it was delightful to hear the Christmas songs and carols sung by youngsters from the adjoining kindergarten. For the past eight years the Fayre has been co-ordinated by Bob Wickens. He has, however, decided to step down from this role – whilst still willing to help where possible. Bob would like to thank all who have helped in any way over the past years and especially the Christmas Fayre Committee who are prepared to continue in their role.
