Urgent Message from Reverend Andrew 31st July 2020

Dear Parishioners,
You may be aware that from midnight, tonight, the government has made it mandatory that face masks must be worn in indoor crowded spaces. There is more information in the web address, below but the article states: “More generally, the new measures concern the mandatory use of masks in indoor crowded areas such as malls, banks, supermarkets, hospitals and churches. Those not using a mask will be fined €300.”
This means that facemasks will have to be worn in our three churches from this point on until the restriction is eased. So, if you are coming to church, this Sunday and subsequent Sundays, please bring a facemask with you and be prepared to wear it in church. The smaller practicalities will be worked out between now and Sunday with the wardens.
I know that you may find this a concerning development but please be assured that we will do our best to ensure your safety when you are in church.

I hope to see you on Sunday although I will not be at St Luke’s.
Meanwhile stay safe and pray that the situation does not require further restrictions.

Andrew
