![]() It is with great sadness that I inform you that Canon Anthony died peacefully at his home in Paphos on Monday 24th May. He was taken unwell in early March and, after a period of respite care in a local hospice, was then wonderfully well looked after by a group of professional carers in his own home. His funeral will take place at the historic church of Ayia Kyriaki, by St Paul’s pillar, in Paphos at 1.30pm on Saturday 5th June. His body will be interred at a local cemetery and a reception, will follow, at Gustoso Restaurant, in Paphos. All are welcome to attend. If you are coming to the reception, please would you kindly register your intention with the parish secretary at [email protected] May he rest in peace and rise in glory. Reverend Andrew Burtt, Parish Priest.

Anthony was a school friend and fellow organist. I, and others would have wanted to attend his funeral from England, but for the current restrictions. We will be with you in spirit as you celebrate his life and lay him to rest. Rest in peace Anthony.

I was sorry to learn of Canon Anthony’s death; he was a much valued colleague at Radley College and then later, a delightful neighbour at Worth. Such a gifted person, a brilliant musician and a pastor with a generous heart … I hope to visit Cyprus someday to pay my respects.

Fr Anthony was a colleague and friend when he was at St Luke’s Brighton. I was Hospital Chaplain at The Royal Sussex County. We had our Carol and other services at Saint Luke’s. I did duties for him from time to time. I am so sad that he has died. Rest Eternal Grant him. Fr. Geoffrey
