Saint Chad The 2026 Lent Course for the Anglican Church of Paphos is entitled ‘Hear Our Prayers’. This course will last for five weeks and will be launched in the Parish on Ash Wednesday 18 February. Lent Course 2026: Hear Our Prayers What a Friend We Have in Jesus must be one of the most loved hymns of all time – though it was borne in tragedy in the life of its author who twice lost his fiancée before marriage, yet found hope in Christ. This hymn has got to be in most people’s ‘Top Ten’ of favourite hymns.
What A Friend We Have In Jesus Please be sure to pick up your copy of the Covenant Prayer from your churches. Not only is it aa helpful prayer to at the beginning of a New Year. It also seems an appropriate prayer for us to pray as 2026 is the fiftieth anniversary year of the Diocese of Cyprus and the Gulf as well as the fiftieth anniversary year of the founding of the Anglican Church of Paphos. You are encouraged to keep this in your wallet or purse or ? and pray it regularly over the coming months.
