A Prayer for the Commonwealth Games

Heavenly Father,
We thank You for the opportunity the Commonwealth Games bring to Glasgow and to the nations of the Commonwealth. We pray for every athlete, volunteer, organiser and visitor. Grant safety, wisdom, integrity and joy throughout the Games.

We ask that Glasgow would be a city marked by peace, hospitality and hope. Bless local churches and give believers opportunities to demonstrate Your love in practical ways and to share the hope found in Jesus Christ.

We pray for the nations represented at the Games. Bring peace where there is conflict, justice where there is oppression, and hope where there is despair. Raise up a generation who will pursue truth, compassion and righteousness.

May these Games foster friendship between nations and leave a legacy of unity, generosity and renewed purpose. Above all, may Your kingdom come and Your will be done in Glasgow, across the Commonwealth, and throughout the world.
