Funeral Service of Derek Hind

It is with great sadness that we announce that Derek went to be with the Lord on 10 June 2025 aged 86 years. Derek was a much loved husband of Beatrice and a dear father, Grandfather and Great grandfather. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.

Derek's funeral Takes place on Friday 18 July at 16.45 Cyprus time.  It will be livestreamed from Frinton Free Church, Essex, and you can watch it here www.frintonfree.com/derek You can download a copy of the service sheet below.  

Derek was a long time member of Anglican Church of Paphos and, along with his wife Beatrice, served at Saint Stephen's for many years before returning to the UK.  Derek is fondly remembered in the church and community of Paphos, his legacy lives on in our hearts and minds, and many of us will be watching the livestream of his thanksgiving service.

Ven Paul Writes: "I've actually known Derek for over forty years ago when he was involved in Baptist churches in Sunderland and in planting a church in Gilley Law the village next to New Silksworth, the colliery village, where I grew up - before moving away in the 80's when I joined the Prison Service. The irony is that Derek and Beatrice moved to Frinton and we spent many summers there on holiday staying at my friend from college who was the curate at Saint Mary's! We could have reconnected at any time - if only I'd known!  We finally reconnected when I was posted to ACP in January 2024.  Derek and I exchanged emails on a regular basis, he often left comments on my Facebook page and I know he enjoyed reading my online sermons and website articles!"
