Death of Pope Francis

As a Diocesan family we give thanks for the life of His Holiness Pope Francis: for his leadership of the Roman Catholic Church and in the Church universal; and for his extraordinary witness to Christ in the lives of the most marginalised in society.  May he rest in peace and rise in glory. We hold our Catholic brothers and sisters in our prayers during this time of sadness and transition.  ​Bishop Sean

Our thoughts and prayers are with our brothers and sisters in Christ as we mourn the death of Pope Francis and especially for our friends and colleagues in the Latin Catholic Church here in Paphos.  His life of quiet humility and steadfast service to the poor and marginalised leaves a lasting witness in our world.  Revd Paul. 

UPDATE: There will be a Mass for the eternal repose of Pope Francis’ soul, led by the Latin Catholic Church, in Ayia Kyriaki on Wednesday 23 April 2025 at 12 noon.
