The Archbishop has requested that all parishes should hold a service to commemorate HRH Prince Philip’s life before his funeral on Saturday. To comply with his wishes, there will be a Service of Commemoration for the life of HRH, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, on Friday 16th April at 4.00pm at the Anglican Church of Paphos, Ayia Kyriaki, by St Paul’s Pillar. All are welcome.
Please note:- Ayia Kyriaki is currently effected by the extensive road works in Kato Paphos, see the Location page HERE for directions that are current at the time of posting, and allow extra time for parking and the Covid restrictions that are in place. Also note that masks will be worn by the congregation throughout the service.

THIS MESSAGE IS FROM REVEREND ANDREW
Dear Parishioners and Friends, Under normal circumstances a Book of Condolence would be open in each of our churches to allow you to record a message of condolence on the occasion of Prince Philip’s death. However, COVID restrictions prevent this from happening. We need to prevent the possibility of infection from the use of shared pens and paper and the risk posed by people queuing to make their contribution. It has been decided that, instead, we will follow the practice that has been adopted in the UK of submitting a message of condolence by electronic means. So, I email to draw your attention to two sites where you can write a message of condolence. The first is the Church of England website where along with placing your message, you will also be able to read specially written prayers and liturgy that you may find helpful at this time. This site can be accessed by clicking on this link: https://www.churchofengland.org/remembering-his-royal-highness-prince-philip Alternatively, you can go to the Royal Website and write your message of condolence. Click on this link: https://www.royal.uk/condolence If you are unable to access these sites, please contact our church secretary, Di Sylvester on 99 103976 and she will record what you wish to say. Once Prince Philip’s funeral arrangements have been announced, it is likely that a special service to commemorate Prince Philip’s life will be held in Ayia Kyriaki, this coming week. I will advise you in a further email of date and time. I am sure that you will hold the Royal family in your prayers at this difficult time for them. With prayers and best wishes, Andrew |
